Rebekah Smith

Rebekah is honored to serve our wonderful community of students, parents, and educators as PTA President for the 2025-2026 school year. With several years of involvement in the PTA both as a chair and executive board member, she is dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging environment that fosters educational excellence and strengthens the partnership between families and the school. She believes that open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers are vital for our children's success. Rebekah and her husband of 21 years have three sons, a Junior at KHS, and two at Bryant, a 5th grader and a 3rd grader. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, camping, hiking, and traveling. Rebekah invites all parents and guardians to get involved, share your ideas, and contribute to our mission. She is excited for what the next year will bring and for the opportunity to meet other parents and bring them together to help make the 2025-2026 school year the BESt year yet!

This is Patty's third consecutive year on the Bryant PTA Executive Board. She has been volunteering at Bryant in different capacities since 2018. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Keith, for 15 years, and they have two children. Claire is in 7th grade at Woodcreek Junior High. Emma is in 4th grade at Bryant, and is a proud member of the House of Reveur. Patty graduated from Mays Business School at Texas A&M with a degree in Marketing. She has worked in accounting and sales, but her most rewarding job title is mom! Outside of school, Patty enjoys cheering on her kids at their sports events and spending time with friends and family. She is looking forward to all the wonderful things the PTA has planned for this school year!

Gabriella Word is returning for her second year as VP of Fundraising on the Executive Board. Since joining the PTA in 2018, Gabriella has been an active member of our school community, including serving as Yearbook Chair and taking on various leadership responsibilities throughout the years.

A lifelong Katy resident, Gabriella and her husband, Travis, are both proud graduates of Katy High School, Class of 2004, and will celebrate 15 years of marriage this November. They are the proud parents of two boys: Jacob, now a 7th grader at Woodcreek Junior High, and Noah, a 4th grader at Bryant Elementary.
Gabriella earned her degree from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and currently serves as the Senior Director of Global Organization and Talent Development at Igloo Products Corp., located just minutes from Bryant.
She is passionate about education, community, and making a meaningful impact through her work with the PTA. Gabriella is excited to continue building connections and creating memorable experiences for our school this year

Mandy Laroux is the VP of Volunteers for a Bryant PTA, this is her 3rd year on the Board. She has a 3rd grader and a 1st grader at Bryant and one future Bengal, a 4 year old boy who cannot wait to join his Big Brothers at Big School. Together with her husband of 12 years, she moved to Texas in 2022 from Pennsylvania. Mandy volunteered in 22-23 school year and was happy to take on a more established role within the board and will continue to help where and when she can. A born and raised Californian, Mandy worked in HR & accounting before becoming a stay at home mom in 2017. In her off time she is happy to spend time with her boys watching them play club sports, finding time to exercise, walk the dog, and reading when she can find a minute. She can’t wait to see what this year brings and how she can help make this Bryant’s BESt year.

Kristin Edwards will be starting her 4th year on the Executive Board and she is looking forward to serving as VP of Family Engagement for another year. She has been married to her husband, Ben, for 11 years and they have 3 children. Her son, Clayton, is in 5th grade, her daughter, Hudson, is in 3rd grade and her youngest daughter, Stevie, will be in Kindergarten. She is so excited to have all 3 kids attending Bryant this year. Kristin is an Aggie and loves spending time with her family, watching college football and cheering on her kids in various sports. She is incredibly excited for this year and for all the fun events the PTA has planned for our students. She can’t wait to make the 2025-2026 school year an amazing one!

Christina Harper is joining the Executive Board this year as our new Treasurer. Christina has been actively volunteering with the PTA since 2022, not only in the work room but also as a room mom in the past. Christina began volunteering to be more involved in her daughter’s school and to meet new friends when her family relocated from Florida.

Christina has been married to her husband, Jon, for 10 years this upcoming October and they have two children. Madison will be in third grade this year and Colin will be starting Kindergarten at Bryant! She is so excited to finally have her two kids at the same school for the first time!
Christina graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing and she previously worked for a not for profit as a Membership Director. She loves spending time with her family and watching her daughter dance and her son play sports. Christina is excited to contribute to Bryant in her new role and looks forward to all that the PTA has planned for the 2025-2026 school year!

Lauren is married to her husband, Jerron, and they have one son, Jaxson, a 5th grader in the House of Rêveur. This is her 5th year on the PTA Executive Board, having previously served as VP of Family Engagement, Treasurer, and VP of Communications.
A proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Lauren works from home for an insurance company and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs, Cash and Duke. She got involved with the PTA to stay connected to Jaxson’s school and meet new people—and now loves being part of the Bengal community. She’s excited for another fun and meaningful year ahead!

Kari Bearb is proudly serving her 4th consecutive year on the PTA Executive Board, bringing dedication and enthusiasm to the Bryant community. With seven years as a Bengal parent, Kari has been an integral part of the school, volunteering as a room mom, supporting PTA events, and leading as the Yearbook Chair. Her journey with the PTA began with a desire to immerse herself in the school community, driven by her love for volunteering and being around children. This involvement has rekindled her passion for teaching, leading her to work as a SPED para last year and now stepping into the role of a Kindergarten teacher at Bryant. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Kari was honored with the Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Membership awards for the 2022-2023 school year.​ Kari is married to her husband, James, and a proud mother of three children, who are in 7th, 5th, and 2nd grade.

Meredith Urban is starting her 7th consecutive year serving on the executive board at Bryant Elementary. This will be her first year as VP of Parliamentarian. Meredith was awarded Volunteer of the year and also Lifetime member of the year for the 2021-2022 school year. She is married to her husband Cutter for 15 years and has three children. Her older two will be in 8th and 6th grade in Jr high while the youngest will be her last at Bryant in 5th grade! She is ready to help out at both campuses this year. Meredith went to Texas Tech University and then Le Cordon Bleu in Austin Texas where she got her culinary degree. Meredith enjoys watching her kids participate in all the sports, college football, going on vacations and spending time at her family’s ranch. She loves being at the school and helping the teachers as well as being involved with all the student activities. She is excited about this new school year and looking forward to volunteering and meeting new people.
