VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNTIES

There are numerous ways for you to get involved at the school with your son or daughter. If you have any amount of time, we could use your gifts and talents.
THESE CHAIR POSITIONS ARE STILL OPEN AND AVAILABLE:
WORKROOM CHAIR:
The Chair will be responsible for laminating, copying, cutting, completing various projects needed by teachers and staff, keeping workroom organized, stocked with needed supplies, organize and distribute paperwork for weekly folders, and coordinate volunteers.
Time Commitment – Daily.
SISTER SCHOOL CHAIR:
Work with sister school, Shafer Elementary, to plan activities.
Time Commitment – Varies throughout the year.
LIBRARY CHAIR:
Work in the library at the circulation desk and assist students check books in and out. Also responsible for shelving books, processing new books, assist students locate books and pulling books for research or projects. Additional help will be needed for Book Fairs, book repair or covering and end of year inventory.
Time Commitment – Three shifts per day: 8:30a –10:30am, 10:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-3:30pm
JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT COORDINATOR:
You will recruit volunteers to train and teach the JA curriculum to a class or classes at BE.
Time Commitment – Varies during school hours as events occur.

Volunteer & Raptor Registration

Katy ISD is excited to announce the implementation of the District’s Raptor Volunteer Initiative for the upcoming school year. Beginning October 1, the district will require all volunteers serving on campus during the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system.
Raptor ensures quick and easy volunteer registration allowing individual volunteers to create and manage a personal volunteer profile. In addition, the Raptor Volunteer Initiative will:

Provide an additional layer of protection for Katy ISD students, staff, volunteers, and campus visitors.

Unite all district volunteers into one Katy ISD volunteer community.

Measure and communicate the positive impact of Katy ISD volunteer organizations.
